Kitchen Remodel in Southwest Austin, TX
This Davis Hill kitchen started as a closed‑in space with two dividing walls, a peninsula, and finishes that no longer fit the home. The homeowners wanted an open layout with better flow and modern functionality, so Owner, Bert Bell reworked the entire plan and finalized all scope and selections before demo to keep the project organized from start to finish.
We removed everything from floor to ceiling and opened the kitchen by taking out two walls and replacing the old peninsula with a new island. Plumbing and electrical were relocated, including a dedicated circuit for the built‑in oven and microwave. The new layout features Fantasy Brown granite countertops, an induction cooktop with chimney hood, a built‑in oven/micro combo, dishwasher, and a wine cooler. Storage cabinets were added to the back of the island for extra functionality.
A dedicated wine area was created with a wine cooler, stemware storage, and open wine racks. Wood‑look porcelain tile was installed throughout the first floor for durability and a cohesive look. The kitchen was completed with a Dakota composite sink and a touch‑technology faucet for everyday convenience.
The homeowners appreciated the communication, craftsmanship, and attention to detail throughout the project. The finished kitchen is brighter, more open, and far more functional than the original layout—exactly the transformation they were hoping for.
Before & After Images of Davis Hill Kitchen
"My husband and I hired Bert to help design and build out a new kitchen which involved removing a wall, adding an island, replacing all of our appliances and cabinets. He also replaced the flooring downstairs, our fireplace facade, front door, and replaced the carpet on our stairs with solid wood. The results were stunning!!! He was a joy to work with and very professional. He made sure we were aware of any potential additional costs and advised us wisely. He met our needs and explained thoroughly the process step by step. He was always available for any questions and/or concerns. We would hire him again if the need arises and am happy to highly recommend him." - Collins
